Hi,
Thanks for the reply.I am in the military camp now and I am buying the phone for my fiance who went to Africa for a theological purpose..I am buying it for him as his birthday so I want it packed properly.I'm offering $300 plus the shipment cost.Due to the high cost of shipping for some couriers,I will suggest you use fedex or express air post as it is relatively cheaper.I am paying through online bank transfer as it protects both the buyer and seller.... if the price is okay, send me your full bank details so I can make the payment as soon as possible.
Here is the shipping address,
NAME:WILLIAMS FEYISOLA
ADDRESS:6, OMOBOLA STREET

New Features Alert - Scammers Beware!

published 4 January 2010, 12:11pm by jackie | Filed in: Announcements

We know there are some diehard scammers around using prepaid cards to bypass our security verification as Local Users trying to make this place unsafe and wasting our SMS credits. :(

Thus, we implemented a new feature to guide buyers/sellers and discourage such scams further. Let me introduce the "Logged in from" feature.

Pretty self-explanatory as you will be able to see from how many countries the user has logged in from.

Would you still wanna trade with him? The risk is solely yours. :)

Side note: Do report and flag out suspicious posts to us.

Delete Messages Posted on your Ads

published 8 April 2009, 5:35pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: Announcements

Did a minor permission tweak to allow ad owners to moderate the discussions on their own ads. This comes after many requests from ad owners who wants to keep maligning messages or hostile messages away their ad. From an ad owner's point of view, this is important so as to not affect potential users from contacting/buying.

If you genuinely want to provide feedback on your experience with the ad owner, do so via the user's feedback form instead. By providing feedback, I meant do so if you have actually converse/trade with the user before judging.

As for how a seller wants to sell/price/term his/her items, just let it be or you can always throw a friendly advice via his/her contact form. Come on, let's all be friends. :)

Feature Update #5: Login and Return, Hide Suspended Ads

published 2 April 2009, 3:14pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: Announcements

In the past, you will be redirected to your Dashboard after you have logged in. Now this has changed such that you will be redirected to the page you were at before hitting the Login link. This should make pHingers less frustrated about logging in then retracing back to where they were before.

If you still wish to get redirected back to the Dashboard at times, there is an addition "Go to Dashboard instead of my previous page" checkbox on the Login page.

The other minor update is that suspended ads can now be hidden as well. This will make the default manage ads page less cluttered (especially if you were a hardcore spammer).

Hope you guys enjoy the changes made and we do appreciate your feedback. Cheers.

Yet another "why it wasn't available by default" feature. Now you can simply click on the trash bin icon to delete any messages that belongs to you.

Suspending of Users with Multiple Accounts

published 9 March 2009, 2:07pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: General

I would like to re-iterate that having multiple accounts per user/company is a strict no-no.

Why?

  • This is unfair to users who abides to pHing's terms
  • By having more than one account, you can potentially post/bump more than 3 of your ads within 30 minutes
  • Make users browsing the ads waste a lot more time time skipping through your multiple accounts with similar ads
  • Posting of an ad is free so everyone should be given equal chance to have their ad show up in pHing

Feature Update #3

published 14 January 2009, 3:47pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: Announcements

This is the 3rd major announcement on new features so in case you were wondering, the 1st and 2nd announcement were titled differently. For future updates, we will follow this convention so let's see what's new this time?

User Feedback System

This is the most voted for idea and I am sorry it took so long. I had a more complicated reputation system in mind but figured that the classic +/- 1 might actually work best.

Feedback link and score

All users will now have an additional link to their feedback page (see mine) where anyone can read about feedback submitted as well as submitting a feedback. There are some rules to the submission of feedback which you can more about it in our FAQ if you want.

Ad Photo on Manage Ads Page

Ad photo showing on manage ads page

We did not wish to complicate the manage ads page so it was kept simple all the while. There were feedback that showing the ad photo will help users identify their ads and true enough, it really does seem to help me.

No More Ad Quota

The idea of having an ad quota was to control the number of ads coming from one single user. However, this does not seem to help since it is never easy to find a sweet spot for the quota level to suit all users. Hopefully, this does not create more duplicates nor spam. Ads can still be flagged down and if any user appears to be spamming, we will not hesitate to suspend.

Easy Sharing of Ads

ShareThis button

Although I have never felt the need of refering an ad to a friend, it seems like some of you do. We integrated the ShareThis button on all ad view page so you can choose to share the ad with a friend or even post the ad to your social networks easily.

That is all I have for you guys, stay tune to the next update and keep the feedback coming!

Netbook No More, Cease and Desist

published 13 January 2009, 11:44am by Derick Ng | Filed in: General

If you have been reading enough, you might have already know about the netbook trademark controversy. For those who don't, just note that a certain company has filed a trademark for the term "netbook" so technically you should no longer call your beloved Asus Eee, HP Mini, MSI Wind, etc. a "netbook". Unfortunately, an identical trademark (T9705577B) is filed in Singapore so we have to make sure all our users cease using the term "netbook" for ads posted until the legal stuffs get sorted.

So until further notice, I urge all users to rename/remove the term "netbook" from their ads. The deadline would be 1st February 2009. By then, any ads that still contain the term "netbook" would be suspended. We seek your cooperation and hopefully we will not have to suspend any user accounts with regards to this. Thank you.

Block User, Flag an Ad and a Refresh of Search Results Page

published 28 November 2008, 2:30pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: Announcements

Screenshot of search results page

Woot, we have a slight change of layout for the search results page which will hopefully make reading even easier and mostly to accomodate the two ad controls we are adding. "What are controls? I don't see them." Ad controls are just the two new "things you can do to an ad" on the search results page. You don't see them because it only shows up when you hover the ad.

Screenshot of ad controls on search results page

The idea is to reduce clutter so you can scan the ads faster.

Block user

Now you have the ability to block any user's ads from showing up on your search results page! Think of it like a personalized search where you can block users you will never want to transact with and slows your browsing of ads.

If you have blocked any users, there will be an extra search filter block which allows you to see whose ads are being blocked and also allowing you to unblock.

Screenshot of blocked users search filter block

This feature is marked as (beta) and each user can only have up to 30 blocked users for the time being. This is so that we can monitor how it affects searching and basically this puts a greater load on our server as well. So enjoy while you can.

Flag this ad

This is one area where I really hope pHingers can help out in. There are many many ads posted each day and although many users email to complain, only a small handful of users actually flag the ads. Flagging the ads will allow us to moderate them faster and more accurately. This means if enough users flag an ad which is truly "bad", the ad will get suspended.

Previously, you can only flag an ad from the ad details page so it might seem like a hassle. Now that flagging an ad is just a click away, we hope to have more pHingers helping out.

Feedback

While we are working hard, please continue to vote/suggest ideas via our feedback forum.

We Want Your Feedback!

published 16 November 2008, 6:57pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: General

Till date, the only way of reporting bugs and providing feedback is to do it via our "Contact Us" page. But from today onwards, we have an official feedback forum powered by UserVoice. This will allow us to better understand our users needs and common problems (bugs) encountered.

See the feedback tab on the left of this website? You can now submit a bug/idea on any page you are at. It will also allow us to know the URL where the bug occurs. Easier for you, better for us. We have already created a list of ideas to begin with but feel free to submit more. So head on to our feedback forum and cast your votes now!

Dealing with Ad Spams

published 11 November 2008, 4:10pm by Derick Ng | Filed in: Announcements

spam.jpg

It has been quite a while since I wrote on this blog. Just thought I will throw in a quick update about the minor feature added recently to prevent spamming of ads.

The basic idea is simply to not allow ads by a single user from hogging pages and pages of the search results. Each time you bump/post an ad, you get one step nearer to hitting the Spam threshold. The threshold is calculated based on the no. of ads bumped/posted over a period time. Finally, any user will not be allowed to bump/post until they are back in the "safe zone". I hope you can see how it helps.

The problem with such changes is that there are like double edged swords. On one end, most buyers will be happy that they will not have to browse through pages of ads finally to arrive at ads they really want to see. And on the other end, sellers will be unhappy that they can't "market" their ads or have to waste more time bumping their ads. Unfortunately, there is hardly a sweet spot for any of the quotas nor threshold. Probably the only solution is to have a pay-per-post model but that just isn't pHing yet.

We are constantly monitoring the happenings in pHing so do know that we value all feedbacks and keep them coming!
