psp scammer pls read b4 buying psp – $250.00

I just wan to warn ppl that are buying psp as i nearly fell into trap of some firm selling unmod or rather cheap mod psp to Singaporean. 1st of all the psp maket of mod have gone relatively high as 350 to 430++

350 set is export set plus other package ard 420 u get local set with package, belive me i am a crazy person that go ard singapore juz to find a better price. there many forums selling 2nd hand psp. one of there is Phing of coz my favour.

U may wonder why ppl sell psp, becoz they dont play anymore, need hard cash, the last last reason is selling a spolit psp. rest assure with so many ppl buying and selling, it is a hit and run market we are doing. will i sell a bad psp and tell u are good? once u test it out the result will came to light. Most ppl sell psp is because they dont play it anymore. that 1 kind of seller which i call them the middle man  they buy from us and sell to us making little small profit.

Another type is the psp scammer, got shop got sell the right item. below is one of the lady scammed

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2242787&highlight=PSP

This scammer keeps changing phone numbers and user ids. As he keeps posting ads, I will continue to share my experience with Games Squarez at Far East Plaza #03-32B.

On November 3, 2008 I bought two PSPs there; one lavender purple for my daughter and one mint green for my son. I asked a number of times before I handed over my cash, if these units had been modded. I was told in no uncertain terms that they had been modded and they were running 4.01 M33 firmware. I asked for a memory card with a game on it to check this out, but I was told they had no such games as it was too dangerous with the current crackdown on pirated games... (you can blame me for falling for this stupid excuse). I checked the units for display defects and ran an original game from UMD. Everything seemed OK, so I paid 2 * S$295 for two Japanese PSPs and two 4 GB Sandiskmag-glass_10x10.gif memory cards. Luckily I did manage to convince them that I was not going to pay 7% extra for GST as we had agreed on S$295.

After leaving the store I checked the box contents and found that one contained a non-original battery. I returned to complain about this and was told that this other battery had double the capacity and that this was a promotion for the mint green PSP only. I didn't buy this as I've had bad experiences with no-brand batteries before, and I asked for an original battery. They did not have any of these in stock so I received a note and would return the next day to collect an original battery.

At work more experienced colleagues checked my PSPs and determined that they were running original firmware. In fact, the included memory cards did contain a number of games (so much for the excuse of it being too dangerous to have pirated games in the store), but my PSPs did not recognize them as such. Attempts to load customized firmware with a Pandora battery failed, so I suspect these Japanese PSPs with firmware 4.01 cannot be modded (yet).

The next day, I returned to the store to ask for an explanation; I was told that these units had been modded to play movies and music, but not to play games... WTF? There was some back and forth and I demanded my money back as I was lied to when I bought these PSPs the day before. I didn't get anywhere with the clerk at the store, so I called 97260304 and explained the situation. I was given the same crap and the guy kept telling me it was company policy to not do refunds. When asked to speak to someone in charge, I was told he was the one in charge. Still he refused to offer me a refund. All he was willing to offer was an exchange with additional payment for modded US units in other colors. However, I really wanted to have these colors for my kids, and on principal I was not willing to give them one more dollar.

Finally, the included 4 GB memory sticks labeled as Sandisk are not Sandisks at all, so they are selling fake memory cards as well.

I've learned to be more careful in the future, and I hope my experience will stop at least some of you from buying from this shoddy scam artist. Buyer beware, if you do not want to be ripped off, DO NOT BUY FROM GAMES SQUAREZ AT FAR EAST PLAZA #03-32B, OR GAMES FACTORYZ AT QUEENSWAY SHOPPING CENTRE #02-07; both are run by the same guy at 97260304, 83390076, 97292580 and 92359103.

yep, and if you bring stuff for repair they will take out parts from your console.. esp if your psp is those earlier ones that are fully modifiable.. then when u go home and find out you can't play mod games they will say they sent it back to sony and sony has upgraded to lastest firmware.. then they will ask you to pay 50$ afterwhich they will put back your original motherboard... These people really suck... Please please beware...
